We would like to inform you that new rules are coming in 2022 for commercial vehicle users including vans, lorries and those towing goods trailers, for certain journeys in Europe. The changes will be rolled out as follows:
FROM 2 FEBRUARY 2022
If you operate loaded goods journeys in and between European Member States, you may need to share information digitally about your journeys in the EU, including details of the operator, driver, driver employment, dates of travel, and the vehicle used.
FROM 21 MAY 2022
If you operate or use goods vehicles over 2.5 tonnes and up to 3.5 tonnes in weight, that travel to the EU on journeys for hire and reward, you will need to obtain an International Operator’s Licence, which includes the requirement to appoint a designated Transport Manager.
These rules are mandatory and those that are not compliant may face a heavy fine.
