Transporting your goods from the UK to Cyprus may be simpler than you think.
In just 2 simple steps, we can help you get your goods where they need to be.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- A freight ferry / Eurotunnel ticket to go from UK to Mainland Europe
- A second ticket to take your goods from Mainland Europe and into Cyprus
And that’s it! This is what we recommend…
UK to Mainland Europe
Because the only route that goes to Cyprus is located in Greece, it is first necessary to travel to the continent. This can be done via various routes, but the simplest and most straightforward is via the Eurotunnel from Folkestone to Calais.
Alternatively, you can catch the ferry from Dover to either Calais or Dunkerque. You can then drive across the continent until you reach Greece.
Greece / Mainland Europe to Cyprus
While there are plenty of routes that can take you from the UK to mainland Europe, only one route will then take your goods into Cyprus. Departing from the Port of Lavrio in Greece (which is located approximately 60km from Athens), the Lavrio ⇄ Limassol route is perfect for you or your driver to take your goods directly into Cyprus.
Including berths in a shared cabin, this freight-only service (including vans, rigids and artics) is operated by Salamis Lines. Check-in must be 24 hours before departure at the latest and a maximum of 12 drivers are allowed on each sailing.
Alternatively, if you would prefer to utilise a route that requires less driving it is worthwhile considering using a ferry from Italy to Greece - this would not only save you driving time, but also enables your drivers to relax.
For example, Ancona ⇄ Igumenitsa, Bari ⇄ Igumenitsa or Brindisi ⇄ Igumenitsa are great options for transporting your goods close to the Port of Lavrio.
